PLA
Polylactic acid
Easy, precise, economical
Rigid and easy to work with, but brittle and low in heat resistance (~55 °C). Perfect for prototyping fast and cheaply.
- Strengths
- Precision, cost, clean finish
- Typical use
- Prototypes, mock-ups, lightly stressed aesthetic parts
PLA-CF
PLA carbon fibre
Rigid and aesthetic
Carbon-fibre reinforced PLA: stiffer and more stable than PLA, with a nice matte finish. Remains heat-sensitive — ideal for aesthetic and semi-technical parts.
- Strengths
- Rigidity, matte look, stability
- Typical use
- Rigid aesthetic parts, clean prototypes (~55 °C)
PETG
